PANTO: IT’S BEHIND YOU!!

Puss In Boots

Written by Norman Robbins

Directed by Graham Budd

Performed: Thursday, 15th to Saturday, 17th January 2015

For this traditional family pantomime, the Director assembled a large cast, a live band and lots of audience participation!

Puss in Boots PosterThe old miller in the village of Arcadia died leaving his three sons Caspar, Hector and Peter to inherit, but Caspar and Hector took all their father’s possessions leaving the youngest son Peter with just the mangy family cat.  But there was a will, mysteriously missing, and where there is a will there is a way!  Peter decided to leave with just a sack of possessions to go to America.  But before he leaves he meets the Princess of Arcadia and falls in love.

But the course of true love does not run smoothly.  Cue for Gruesome, the lackey of Crunchbones, the people-eating Ogre – and the Ogre is hungry!  But Peter has friends in high places… Mother Goose the Fairy Godmother, and Freckles who is page to the Queen (the pantomime “Dame”).  All are determined that he will win the day and with the support of Jack, Marjory and of course the guile of the magically transformed Puss, everything ends happily ever after.

Graham Budd, assisted by his wife Karen, also directed “Treasure Island” in 2012 and “Babes In The Wood” in 2011.Puss in Boots
